A research to know all about mobile telephony figures at Lubumbashi

The agency is getting ready to release a publication in the market concerning results of a research during which 1000 people have been interviewed using the technic of quotas in line with age, sex and socio-professional category. 

Target research is revealing for example that 84% of persons of 12 years old and above are using mobile phone and are at least subscribers of one of the telecom network operating in DR Congo (a figure amongst the highest in the country).

Another interesting information revealed by this research is the propensity of users to take subscription from several operators. Only 45% of respondents stated to use only one SIM card. The reasons mentioned by the 55% amongst those people using several SIM cards are very revealing of Lubumbashi people communication behaviors. The said reasons published by Target research are showing why these consumers are ready to regularly spend money on top up.

According to date collected during this research, 62% of respondents are not interested in the use of smartphones. The most concerned age bracket is: people of 35 years old and above. The research also indicates why such huge amount of people is not interested in smartphones, while it is very fashionable in other countries.

Respondent subscribers also mention several complaints against mobile phone operators that might sometimes act as a real brake on the use of mobile phone in Lubumbashi. They are finally talking about Mobile Money services and positioning of Key operators in mobile telephony sector. In short, Target research is indeed a gold mine full of fresh information capable of attracting all mobile phone actors: operators, manufacturers, sellers…
